55-inch LCD displays are among the largest displays that consumers can get their hands on. If
you need something bigger than that, you will have to get a plasma and we all know the disadvantages of plasma
TVs these days. We also know that many manufacturers including Samsung are making their transition to the LED
displays that boast greater dynamic contrast ratios and far better quality than both LCDs and plasma displays.
The real question is whether or not these new technologies are really worth the money. Fortunately, the
Samsung UN55B7000 delivers strongly in a lot of major areas that could be enough to attract a good deal of
consumers looking for their next 55-inch display.

Advantages
One of the biggest advantages of the UN55B7000 is the very thin display with the thickest part of the unit
measuring 1.2 inches deep. It even gets thinner around the panel edges. The display swivels as well so you can
easily adjust it when you need to view the TV head on. Because it is an LED TV, the overall unit is much lighter
and runs cooler than other TV displays. It also takes the "Touch of Color" concept up a notch by
having red accents around the panel with an outer transparent edge too.
On the performance end, the Samsung UN55B7000 excels in color accuracy taking full advantage of the LED design
and technologies and combining it with an impressive 120 Hz refresh rate which is still good since not all people
like the 240 Hz refresh rate presented on pricier models. It also has great dejudder processing and various other
customization options to fine tune the image quality. These options are presented in the same friendly menu that a
lot of the Samsung TV users like.
Some of the other advantages include a good set of connectivity options offering four HDMI ports and an Ethernet
port to make use of the online features allowing you to browse some websites and gain real-time information through
widgets. The energy savings on this model are impressive as well.
Disadvantages
The deep black levels are pretty good as well, but they do not match up against some of the competitors with the
same price tag. In fact, for what it is, the Samsung UN55B7000 is a bit pricey and while a lot of the elegant
design features contribute to that, you are still stuck with the red design as there are no other colors
available.
Customer Reception
People that bought the UN55B7000 were impressed by the overall performance in just about all areas excluding the
sound. Many liked how all of the components fit well together with the size of the TV matching the performance
expectations plus the fact that it is one of the thinnest TVs around. In terms of viewing experience, most people
were satisfied with their unit.
If you want to have the perfect viewing experience, you will need to take some time setting up the TV. One
person had to spend around 2 hours trying to set everything up and adjust the color settings. Some key areas to
adjust are the motion smoothing, jitter control, and blur control. Beginners can make the process easy by just
turning it off. You can also try setting these values to "7" and see if the display improves.
